Kinduo
SCORE: 70
Kinduo is a fascinating action adventure
puzzle game that sits pretty right under the indie umbrella. Kinduo can
be played in solo or coop. There are two characters to control in
Kinduo. If you are playing by yourself then you will need to swap
between the two characters to progress through the levels. There is an
exit door in each of the levels within Kinduo. The goal is to get there
with both characters.
The two characters within Kinduo have different skills. The rock looking
block is heavy and can flip switched by standing on them and push blocks
around. The yellow lighting character can zoom around, and use an
electrical charge to power devices. A great example is the devices that
are attached to elevators. Quite often I used the lightning character to
charge the elevator and he would quickly join the rock character on the
elevator.
Kinduo has an indie look and sound to it. There is some fantasy violence
and blood in this game. Your characters can die a plethora of ways in
Kinduo. I learned to be more careful next time. I also learned to use
the right character in the proper situation in Kinduo. Team work and
cooperation are a big part of Kinduo. When there are two family members
playing Kinduo they will need to work together to progress.
As far as platform puzzle video games go Kinduo is pretty solid. The
graphics in Kinduo remind me of 8-bit video games. I appreciate the
bright colors that are used within Kinduo. The music is fresh and fun in
Kinduo. It helped me want to keep solving the puzzles. Kinduo starts
pretty easy and simple. Kinduo quickly becomes more challenging and more
involved. In later levels I found one character was stuck. So I learned
to never enter the exit until I had both characters there.
I enjoyed my time with Kinduo. This is a cool little downloadable only
title that can be played for an hour or two and then go about your life
again. Kinduo is one of those fresh titles that is a short breath of
fresh air. I hope to see longer sequels to Kinduo in the future. I would
also love to see Kinduo join some Evercade cartridge compilation. Other
indie titles have been released on that platform.
