Kirby Manga Mania Volume 1

I was pretty excited when Peter pointed out the Kirby Manga Mania Volume 1 manga book at one of our local comic book stores. Then I started to read Kirby Manga Mania Volume 1. My excitement shrunk because this is another thrown together compilation book. The author writes a note for each chapter at the start of it. To make matters even worse almost every single story within Kirby Manga Mania Volume 1 is the same thing. Having the chapters totally disconnected is one thing, but having the same things happen over and over again does get stale.

Please be aware there will be some spoilers in this review. Kirby constantly abuses King Dedede in Kirby Manga Mania Volume 1. Whether it is at the picnic, during a typhoon, with a body double or more; King Dedede is constantly being harmed by Kirby again and again. The childish nature of the motives of Kirby are actually kind of funny in some parts. Like when Kirby accidentally eats the character taking care of them in a creepy terror inn. One of the few different stories is when King Dedede is turned into a toy. That one caught my interest.

The issues families could have with Kirby Manga Mania Volume 1 are comic mischief, cartoon violence, crude humor, and more. Kirby is on the rude side to King Dedede quite often within Kirby Manga Mania Volume 1. There are other times when King Dedede is rude to Kirby. For example King Dedede rubs it in that Kirby's house will get destroyed by the typhoon. Kirby takes his house into the castle so it will be safe. After all the castle will not get destroyed by the typhoon within Kirby Manga Mania Volume 1.

I had real issues reading a lot of Kirby Manga Mania Volume 1. Kirby seems pretty stupid in a lot of Kirby Manga Mania Volume 1. Like when he tries to board up King Dedede to keep him safe from the typhoon. I suspect this was a humor moment and kids will probably find it funnier than I ever will. Getting turned into pieces on the Game of Life was an interesting fantasy concept within Kirby Manga Mania Volume 1. They must endure all of these horrible things before they can leave. Kirby sends them right back in because he wants to win this time.

If you let your kids watch Looney Tunes then you will have little issue with Kirby Manga Mania Volume 1. Kid might even learn a few things like countries going to war thanks to Kirby Manga Mania Volume 1. Kirby decides he will make his own nation and start stealing land from King Dedede. They wind up in a war where both countries are in essence ruined. There are multiple times within Kirby Manga Mania Volume 1 that Kirby eats all of the food and does not think of others. King Dedede tries to teach him sharing but it falls on deaf ears.
