Labyrinth Legend
SCORE: 75
I am very thankful Family Friendly Gaming
was given a digital download code for Labyrinth Legend on the Nintendo
Switch. Families can also find this downloadable video game on the PC
and iOS platforms. I was unable to unearth any information on a physical
copy edition of Labyrinth Legend at the time this review was written.
This is a real shame because this game would be pretty cool in that
format. I love looking at case art and of course video game manuals.
Labyrinth Legend provides procedurally generated dungeons that change
each time the player works their way through the different areas of the
video game. Players can choose from three different classes that control
differently. I found the smartest thing to do is get a magical weapon
and replenish the magic quite often. Thankfully we can replenish the
magic by holding a button for a quick second. Then we are powered up and
ready to go.
Enemies will not come after you in Labyrinth Legend unless you are
within a certain distance. That distance is just under your magical
attack range. Certain weapons in Labyrinth Legend are easier to use than
others. I found the lightning ones are a real pain since they go in a
certain direction. The payoff is they are way more powerful. So I
learned to get in close and it ensured a hit that was usually an one hit
kill on the monsters.
There is a really good strategy in this two hundred and sixty meg
downloadable video game that worked really well for me. That strategy is
attack the enemies, and run off a bit. Let the enemy chase you. Do the
process over again. As long as you have room to run around in Labyrinth
Legend you can utilize this strategy until the monsters hit points are
gone. Bosses are a bit more challenging.
Labyrinth Legend has indie graphics and music. The retro feel to
Labyrinth Legend is interesting indeed. We deal with a variety of
violence as we dispose of the same looking monsters again and again. As
we progress through Labyrinth Legend we fight tougher monsters. We are
also collecting better and better gear. I noticed the gear is as random
as the dungeons. At times I got way worse gear in Labyrinth Legend. We
can only hold ten items on top of what we have equipped in Labyrinth
Legend.
I hope you caught the live stream I did of Labyrinth Legend. If you
missed it then know we worked long hours converting the live stream into
a video that will be appearing on our video sites and of course the
Family Friendly Gaming website. I enjoyed my time with Labyrinth Legend.
The storyline interested me enough to play as much as I did.
