Lego Ninjago Garmadon #1

I am very thankful I had the money to purchase a copy of Lego Ninjago Garmadon #1. I feel bad that I accidently read the second issue before the first issue. I am only human and mistakes are made. There will be spoilers in this review. We find out about Garmadon and his past in Lego Ninjago Garmadon #1. I learned a lot that I did not previously know. For example he was once a man, and died a hero. Then the Sons of Garmadon brought him back to life somewhow. Lego Ninjago Garmadon #1 references a resurrection. Garmadon seems very haunted in Lego Ninjago Garmadon #1 to me.

We also find out that Garmadon saved Ninjago against the oni. Even though he himself is an oni. The art work is fantastic in Lego Ninjago Garmadon #1. It is neat to see artwork that is so crisp and clean. There is also some humor within Lego Ninjago Garmadon #1. Garmadon is in the role of a hero even though he does not want to be heroic. He helps out a lady and her daughter for the promise of a feast. He carries the lady with an injured leg on his back because they are taking too long to get to the village.

There is a fight in Lego Ninjago Garmadon #1 where Garmadon fights himself. Or maybe he fights his powers. He has real problems in Lego Ninjago Garmadon #1 with his powers not working. He barely scares off a normal sized bear. Thanks to some tea Garmadon gets his powers back. The tea amplifies the powers you currently have. If you do not have powers then it cannot amplify what you do not have. Does that make sense? There is violent content within Lego Ninjago Garmadon #1. Thankfully it is kept pretty tame which is nice to see.

There are twenty eight pages within Lego Ninjago Garmadon #1, and then a letter from the editor. I was shocked at how long Lego Ninjago Garmadon #1 actually is. Especially when we compare it to many other comic books I have read since we started reviewing comic books here at Family Friendly Gaming. The introduction may not be considered of the mainline comic book. Since it relates I did not differentiate.

Lego Ninjago Garmadon #1 ends with the problem that will be coming to Garmadon after the bears. The Sons of Garmadon have become the Red Crows. Garmadon will need to deal with them. One of the characters (Ultra Violet) near the end of Lego Ninjago Garmadon #1 used to serve Garmadon. She states she will have no problem going after him in a future issue. I am looking forward to how that encounter will go. I will try to find more of these comic books and see where this story goes.
