Multiversus

My dad and I had a rocking live stream of Multiversus. We showed all of the current stages and characters. There are more characters and hopefully stages coming to this brawler. I am a bit bummed we were not able to show the 2 vs 2 modes with the local multiplayer. Multiversus can also be played online. If you are not aware Multiversus is like Smash Bros. The main difference is we have Warner Bros characters.

The characters we played Multiversus with are Lebron James, The Iron Giant, Taz, Velma, Arya Stark, Batman, Bugs Bunny, Garnet, Harley Quinn, Jake the Dog, Reindog, Shaggy, Steven Universe, Superman, Tom and Jerry, and Wonderwoman. As I write this review Black Adam, Stripe, Rick, and Morty have also been announced. Multiversus is a free game where character bundles can be purchased. Those characters can also be purchased with in game credits. If you play Multiversus completely free then you can play different characters as they are rotated.

The wall jumping is one of the things that really saved my dad multiple times from losing a life in Multiversus. Characters can still be spiked down if you hit them right. Iron Giant is very over powered and difficult to fight against. The trade off is he is also very slow. My dad figured out how to grab me, walk me off the edge, throw me off the edge and then knock me off the side. The frame around the screen is a definite ring out. This includes the top of the screen.

At the time of this review there are only seven stages to select from. Not every character has a stage in Multiversus. I hope Multiversus adds more stages in the future. Players can fall off in every single stage in Multiversus. There are no completely flat stages in Multiversus like there is in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. I found this to be bit of a downer for players that have issues with falling off the stages. Being able to wall jump/wall climb does help with that a little bit.

Multiversus is certainly better than I thought it would be. Multiversus is not at the level of Smash Bros yet. Maybe it will get there. Different characters have different strengths and weaknesses. If someone knows how to play Iron Giant then they can be a real pain to take out. I had some fun playing Multiversus. My dad also had some fun. We did have to stretch out the gameplay to get to the hour mark in the live stream. There is violence and bad language in Multiversus.
