Pupperazzi
SCORE: 74
I was able to play Pupperazzi on the Xbox
One thanks to the Xbox Game Pass program. On paper Pupperazzi is one of
the most amazing video game ideas for families ever. In application
there are a few things left to be desired. We take pictures of dogs that
are playing around in a small area. We can pet the dogs, play fetch with
them and more in Pupperazzi.
We are given goals while we play Pupperazzi. We may need to take a
picture of a dog on a boat from below. So we find the water, boat,
crouch and take the picture. Taking pictures in Pupperazzi is pretty
easy. After we take the picture we bring up a menu to mark the mission
as complete. We can then upload the picture to dognet. As we upload
pictures we get more followers. Which can also be a mission to complete
at certain points in Pupperazzi.
The animation in Pupperazzi is lacking. The dogs are stiff and sort of
rock back and forth as they hop around. The best way to describe it is
if a kid was playing on the floor with a stiff dog toy. That is how they
move around the 3D area. We can get in trouble for spamming dognet by
uploading too many pictures or ones they do not like. I thought a
picture of multiple dogs would be a good picture. Pupperazzi did not
like it and told me it was confused at who the main target was.
The music in Pupperazzi is very interesting. I came to enjoy it
eventually. The indie graphics with the double jump did make my head
feel funny after awhile. I also found invisible walls at the top of the
main building in the home area. Vending machines are a good place to
purchase items in Pupperazzi. There are golden dog bones hidden in
places as well as earned from missions. Those can be used to improve
your gear at a shop on the map screen.
Pupperazzi is just over eight hundred megs with multiple areas to go to.
The concept is very cute. If taking pictures of indie looking dogs is
your thing then Pupperazzi might be for you. Pupperazzi is generally
family friendly. There are some references to alcohol within Pupperazzi.
To me Pupperazzi feels like Pokemon Snap if you could move around the
areas.
