Quantum of Solace

One of the movies on The Daniel Craig Collection that I had not seen yet was Quantum of Solace. I decided to do a review of it after watching. I also realized I had not previously reviewed the other two. Hopefully I will have time to get around to that in the future. 007 is feeling really predictable to me. It is possible I saw some of these movies in the theater.

Quantum of Solace starts off with a car chase and plenty of bullets flying. Bond makes it to his destination and takes a man out of the trunk of his car. They are getting to ready to question this man when MI6 finds out they have a traitor in their midst. M is not very happy with Bond because he keeps killing all of their leads in Quantum of Solace. In fact Bond gets put on suspension.

The whole Bond rebelling against his leadership does not really make a lot of sense to me. Bond wants to solve the case and refuses to be put on the shelf. This winds up getting other people killed in Quantum of Solace. Bond is eventually vindicated in Quantum of Solace because he catches the bad guy and gets him to talk. MI6 wants to find out who his boss is so they can find out who is involved with this mysterious secret organization.

The issues families will have with Quantum of Solace are violence, blood, lack of attire, enticement to lust, brief nudity (intro sequence), sex outside of marriage, theft, bad language and more. Quantum of Solace even takes a moment to preach the fake news global warming religious belief. It did not really fit the movie or the scene for me. It was just a cringe moment.

There is plenty of action within Quantum of Solace. Bond teams up with an agent from Bolivia. They both want to take this guy down. Quantum of Solace makes a big deal out of Bond allowing the bad guys to live in certain instances in Quantum of Solace. It is done to make Bond look professional. Which is at odds with Bond murdering so many other people. Collateral damage also has little meaning to Bond in Quantum of Solace.
