Skyfall
SCORE: 60
I am very thankful I had the money to purchase Skyfall on DVD. This
is another movie that was part of The Daniel Craig Collection. A lot of
Skyfall is about how old James Bond is. The whole old dog knowing all
these tricks is very cool. What is strange is the enemy James Bond faces
someone that should be even older than he is(Tiago Rodriguez). There are
even some shocking moments within Skyfall.
The issues families will have with Skyfall are blood, violence, lack of
attire, enticement to lust, nudity in the intro, sex outside marriage,
bad language, sexual deviancy, alcohol, and more. Miss Money Penny has a
race change in Skyfall. It did not feel right and those scenes just did
not fit unfortunately. There are plenty of action scenes within Skyfall.
SPOILER ALERT! One of the most shocking moments within Skyfall was the
death of M. It was highly controversial when she took over for the last
M because they switched the role from male to female. Even though she
was a bit grumpy she was able to grow into the role. That is the thing
about the 007 James Bond franchise, people come and people go. The role
stays.
I find it interesting that the old dog villain is willing to do all this
computer hacking. Where did he learn this? How did he escape his cell?
The new Q is funny in Skyfall. There is a bit of ageism from the new Q
though. We all get older and need to continue to have and show value.
The young should not assume they know everything. Many times they do not
have the wisdom that comes with age.
Early on in Skyfall James Bond gets shot and is presumed dead. He does
come back from a drunken stupor for love of country. He fails his
physical but gets put back on active duty. It was cool to see his
original home in Skyfall. Why is that giant house in the middle of
nowhere? That made little sense to me and it really stuck out. The
grossest part of Skyfall is when the villain pulls out his upper jaw
tooth thing.
