Sonic The Hedgehog #44

I have been purchasing the Sonic The Hedgehog comic books that I do not have as I come across them. Sonic The Hedgehog #44 was one of them at our local comic book store that I decided to check out. I am glad I did too. There will be spoilers in this review. Sonic The Hedgehog #44 gives us some great backstory. Sonic The Hedgehog #44 teaches us out Eggman getting his bell wrung losing a battle to Sonic The Hedgehog and becoming Mr Tinker. Dr Starline and Metal Sonic tortured Mr Tinker to make him Eggman again. There are different design styles to the different personalities.

Dr Starline is studying Belle The Tinkerer to learn about the different designs that Mr Tinker had used. We also get some background with Sonic remembering all these times he has shown mercy on his enemies and it came back to bite him. The Deadly Six are sent home. They vow to come back and cause more pain and misery. Tails created a rocket that sends them home. They plan on coming back and creating more havoc. Of course they do. They cannot be satisfied with getting to build whatever they want on their world. They must go out there and destroy what others are building.

There is fun humor in Sonic The Hedgehog #44. Sonic The Hedgehog does a great job with the humor in this comic book. I really like the crisp and clean artwork in Sonic The Hedgehog #44. The panel designs are done really well too. I love how there are boxes and then artwork done outside, behind, and on top of some of the boxes. Sonic The Hedgehog #44 includes twenty-two pages, next month cover art, letter squad, alternate front covers and some ads. One of the ads in Sonic The Hedgehog #44 actually interests me a little bit. I have not been able to find it locally though.

The recap page in Sonic The Hedgehog #44 is great for families that missed the previous issue. I happen to be one of those people. I buy the Sonic The Hedgehog comic books I find. Sometimes that shelf is a little on the bare side. I guess they are pretty popular locally because the store owner told me he ordered them. He is actually supposed to help me on some I missed. We will see if that pans out or not. I would love to fill the gaps we are missing. Maybe IDW Publishing can do something to help us with that too. If they are listening.

All in all Sonic The Hedgehog #44 is a pretty solid comic book. There are plenty of explanations in this comic book. I really enjoyed reading it. The one downside is once you have the backstory then there is less interest in reading it again. At least it goes that way for me personally. Sonic The Hedgehog #44 can make you feel really bad for Belle The Tinkerer. She had such a happy life stripped from her. Dr Starline does not care about her one bit. He is just using her for his own interests. Which is something that sadly happens in our world as well. Plenty of video game companies have mistreated Family Friendly Gaming.
