Sonic The Hedgehog #50
SCORE: 86
When I was up at one of our local comic book stores recently they
asked if I was looking for anything else. I told them yes Sonic The
Hedgehog #50. I had read Sonic The Hedgehog #49, and found Sonic The
Hedgehog #51 that day. They were kind enough to order it for me and it
was waiting on me when I came back to the store. They did call me to let
me know Sonic The Hedgehog #50 was waiting on me as well. Sonic The
Hedgehog #50 sells for $7.99 and contains twenty more pages than one of
the previous Sonic The Hedgehog comic books I have read. There are
multiple characters that pair up in Sonic The Hedgehog #50. There will
be spoilers in this review.
Tails gets attacked by Kitsunami. Tails reasons with him the best he
can. Kitsunami has the ability to control water which he uses as a
weapon. Sonic gets attacked by Surge. She has lightning like powers and
is almost as fast as Sonic. Maybe she is as fast as Sonic. Belle finds
Metal Sonic and fixes him. Dr Eggman fights off Dr Starline. We go
through the comic book seeing how each of these pairings fare against
one another. Sonic tries to talk Surge out of the attacks as well. Surge
is mad that she was turned into this thanks to no one caring and Sonic
not taking out these doctors.
The biggest issue families can have with Sonic The Hedgehog #50 is
violence. Sonic believes in giving second chances. He will not let you
take freedom away from others. He will fight you if you refuse to stop
trying to harm others. Surge winds up falling in a giant pit and debris
fall down on her. I suspect she is still alive even though Sonic does
not think it is possible. Dr Eggman defeats Dr Starline even though Dr
Starline thinks he planned for every single contingency. Tails shuts
down Kitsunami.
Metal Sonic is the most interesting character in Sonic The Hedgehog #50
to me. He goes back to Dr Eggman. Belle has a conversation with Dr
Eggman. The ending of Sonic The Hedgehog #50 shows that Sonic and his
friends may have some trouble on their hands. Dr Eggman is sending
Badniks after them. The next issue should be interesting as this team
tries to escape the city that has taken so much damage. The violence is
lessened in Sonic The Hedgehog #50 thanks to some of the artwork and
effects used.
All in all I found Sonic The Hedgehog #50 very satisfying to read. I
like the moral and ethical code that Sonic has. He refuses to kill
others. He even tries to save Surge. Her response is to attack him one
last time so she can get the last attack in. I find it sad that some
people refuse to accept help when it is offered. Sonic comments in Sonic
The Hedgehog #50 about the problem with giving people a choice is they
will make the wrong one. I have had that same thought myself in watching
all these people do the wrong thing. Slavery is the other option which I
totally reject.
