Spies in Disguise

I am very thankful we had the money to buy a copy of Spies in Disguise on DVD. Noah was interested in seeing this movie for one of our movie nights. We both laughed and laughed while we watched Spies in Disguise. We had no idea that Spies in Disguise was going to be so funny. Families can definitely enjoy Spies in Disguise. Kids will get into this movie and adults will as well.

Lance Sterling is a spy and Walter Beckett is an inventor in the gadget creation department. Walter Beckett is seen as weird for coming up with non-violent gadgets for the spies. An example is the Kitty Glitter that distracts and relaxes the bad guys. Lance accidently uses it in the field and is furious that it was not a grenade as he was expecting.

Lance Sterling gets framed in Spies in Disguise and must escape his own people. He teams up with Walter to help him. Lance drinks an experimental liquid and gets turned into a pigeon. Walter must help Lance and figure out how to reverse the pigeon to human process. The pair get help from other pigeons who form a flock. Plenty of humor ensues from the flock in Spies in Disguise.

Will Smith really nails the arrogant, self-absorbed, self-centered, egotistical Lance Sterling character perfectly. Tom Holland does a fantastic job with the Walter Beckett character. The main villain Killian has a real backstory that makes perfect sense. Lance Sterling killed off his friends, and caused him to be mutilated. He needs a cybernetic arm and part of his face to survive. He wants revenge for what they did to him. The motives of the villain makes perfect sense in Spies in Disguise.

The issues families can have with Spies in Disguise are violence, lack of attire, and more. I found no language issues in Spies in Disguise whatsoever. There was one part that was bleeped out. There is also a discussion on how pigeons go to the bathroom in Spies in Disguise. I like how Spies in Disguise encourages us to stop the bad guys in a non-violent way.
