Star Trek The Mirror War #1

I saw Star Trek The Mirror War #1 at a local comic book store and thought this might be interesting to read and review. I am aware of the Mirrorverse within Star Trek. I have watched numerous Star Trek television shows that touched upon that alternate reality. Star Trek The Mirror War #1 has Troi on the cover. Which told me Star Trek The Mirror War #1 would be about Star Trek The Next Generation. Guess what? I was completely right on that note. Please be aware that there will be spoilers within this review.

Deanna Troi wants to get off Betazed in Star Trek The Mirror War #1. Technically we see from the first page that she is actually in the court of the emperor. We then flashback to how she gets off Betazed in Star Trek The Mirror War #1. She orchestrates a devious plan to get Captain Picard of the Stargazer to bring her onto his ship. She seeks power, and wants to climb the ranks within the Terran empire. Characters are absolutely ruthless within Star Trek The Mirror War #1. They kill off anyone they need to to get what they want.

The issues families will have with Star Trek The Mirror War #1 are violence, lack of attire, enticement to lust, lies, deceit, murder, and more. Thankfully the violent content does not show any blood or gore. Phasers shoot a plethora of characters and they fall down. We presume they are dead. That is what Star Trek The Mirror War #1 leads the readers to believe. The horrible attitude of the characters fit the volatile Mirrorverse quite well. There is plenty of aggression from characters seeking more power.

It looks like William T. Riker is the emperor in Star Trek The Mirror War #1. I suspect Deanna Troi used some feminine wiles to get Riker's attention. That is not shown within Star Trek The Mirror War #1. I have been unable thus far to find anymore issues to the Star Trek The Mirror War series. After reading Star Trek The Mirror War #1 I am curious to learn more about this science fiction fantasy universe. What happened with other characters from Star Trek The Next Generation in this alternate reality?

There is references within Star Trek The Mirror War #1 to playing a certain kind of game. Let someone think they are smarter than you. Kill one of your friends to show your loyalty, value, and worth to someone that does not trust you. Deanna Troi plays a very deadly game within Star Trek The Mirror War #1. Ultimately Captain Picard accepts her and makes her an Inquisitor on his ship. I hope to find out how she finally made it into the Emperor's court. How long will characters live in this universe?
