Star Wars The High Republic Adventures #2

I had seen advertisements for Star Wars The High Republic Adventures in various other IDW Publishing comic books. The earliest issue I could find is Star Wars The High Republic Adventures #2. I decided to go ahead and start there and see if this comic book is worthwhile or not. Thus far Star Wars The High Republic Adventures #2 did not really impress me that much. In fact it was pretty lame. Star Wars The High Republic Adventures #2 is told partially in real time and partially in flashbacks. There will be spoilers in this review.

I am thankful I was able to find and purchase Star Wars The High Republic Adventures #2. Ty is in a weird state. Others call her a Jedi but she rejects that claim again and again. She gets webbing on her face and must use a sonic whistle to remove it. Thing is she goes deaf for a short bit because of the noise to remove the webbing. She is after some spider monster in Star Wars The High Republic Adventures #2. She loses the beast thanks to Drewen (a Segredo male). The Segredo have a really cool talent in Star Wars The High Republic Adventures #2 - they can go invisible.

A young girl attacks Ty and winds up falling off a cliff. Ty tries to use the force to save her and fails. In fact her connection to the spiritual force is shaky in Star Wars The High Republic Adventures #2. Something happened to her which does not let her continuously connect. She does use a light saber still and that does not seem to be a problem. Star Wars The High Republic Adventures #2 references a Great Disaster in Drewen's back story. There is a lot in Star Wars The High Republic Adventures #2 that I am not certain about.

The issues families can have with Star Wars The High Republic Adventures #2 is violence, religious teachings of the force, and more. I was shocked when I found out there are certain people in our world that claim the Force as their religion. And some people say entertainment does not influence anyone. There are thirty pages of content and then advertisements within Star Wars The High Republic Adventures #2. I was happy with the amount of content within Star Wars The High Republic Adventures #2.

Star Wars The High Republic Adventures #2 is not one of those comic books I plan on reading a second time. The art is good, and there is plenty of dialogue. For some reason Star Wars The High Republic Adventures #2 did not connect with me. The grumpy almost Jedi reluctantly helping has been used way too many times. I have read and played games with this same concept too often to count. I wish they would go a different direction. I would love to see some different stories be told in this science fiction fantasy universe.
