Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #128
SCORE: 62
I am still learning about comic books. Until I started this review of
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #128 I had no idea it was supposed to be
read by mature readers only. I thought the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
were more kid friendly. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #128 is definitely
not kid friendly. Most of the comic book has dark tones and there is
also a dark storyline. The story thus far on the inside page caught me
up to what has been going on in this comic book.
The issues families will have with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #128 are
blood, violence, gore, bad language, and more. Dr Barlow is performing
experiments that would not be ethical. He brought Bonnie (Scale) back to
life with a dragon scale. Then he is putting her body back together by
using parts from other mutant creatures. The mutant creatures are bad
enough in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #128, but the unethical
experiments are just disgusting.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #128 touches on topics like reincarnation,
and the astral plane. There is only one turtle in Teenage Mutant Ninja
Turtles #128. I found that a bit odd personally. I doubt I will read
more of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles so I will not find out if that is
common in this comic book or not. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #128 is
not a comic book I want to read again. It was disturbing enough the
first time.
Telepathy is a power the female character in parts (missing arms and
legs) has been granted. We also find out who she used to be. I felt bad
for her and could quickly tell Dr Barlow is one sick individual. Dr
Barlow thinks no one in mutant town will ever do anything to stop him.
If they are worried about losing their own body parts they might want to
reconsider that. Dr Barlow could easily be accused of mutilation in
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #128.
The dark tones in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #128 are replaced with
light tones when characters are in the astral plane. Teenage Mutant
Ninja Turtles #128 contains twenty pages, next months cover, and then
some advertisements. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #128 is no the turtles
I know and love. I would prefer the more happy and bright cartoons than
this comic book personally.
