The Bad Guys

I am very thankful Family Friendly Gaming was given the retail version of The Bad Guys on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital. This package is actually the Collector's Edition. Noah had heard of The Bad Guys thanks to advertisements on Spotify. Until I was sent a press release concerning The Bad Guys I had never heard of it. Neither had Peter, or Yolanda. Which makes me question the marketing campaigns of some products when the target audience never hears about it. If I was not writing this review how many others would have never heard of The Bad Guys? Expect spoilers throughout this review.

The Bad Guys is an animated movie that takes one hour and forty minutes to watch. There is a wolf, shark, snake, tarantula, and piranha in this crew. They steal from banks and compile the money in their hide out. The Bad Guys love going on car chases with the police and escaping. They wind up getting caught in The Bad Guys because the big bad wolf gets excited and his tail wags. He finally finds out about being good.

The Bad Guys are given a second chance in this movie. There is a gerbil by the name of Professor Marmalade in The Bad Guys. He takes on the crew to teach them how to be good. This is where some of the best humor is in this movie. They have only known being bad because of how they look. They experience applause and cheering at one point in The Bad Guys. This takes them aback because they are used to scaring everyone.

The whole point of The Bad Guys is to show that even these horrible hardened criminals can change their ways. It is a bit more difficult for some characters than others. Snake has real issues with turning a new leaf. He likes how he is. He likes how things are. The Bad Guys addresses not being able to change for the better. Snake eventually does do some good things in The Bad Guys.

The Bad Guys includes an exclusive new short called Maraschino Ruby. The morals and ethics of The Bad Guys is still a bit in question since they like to steal and get away with it. The Bad Guys teaches that not everyone is what they seem to be. The governor Diane Foxington is a great example. She is also known as The Crimson Paw. The Bad Guys has an interesting fantasy universe where criminals get away with it quite a bit.

I love how the crew in The Bad Guys wind up in jail for a year. They get wrongly accused of a theft they did not commit. They accept the punishment because there are plenty of thefts they never got punished for. That takes some real honor in my opinion. We laughed quite a bit in The Bad Guys. I am happy to see bad characters turning a new leaf and becoming good. It was sad to see a good character start to act badly.
