Thundercats The Complete Series

I am very thankful I was given the gift of Thundercats The Complete Series on Blu-ray. I thought I was getting the show from the 1980s. Little did I know that there was a reboot and a retry of the Thundercats. That means Thundercats The Complete Series has a more modern look and feel to it. It also means that this version is much shorter than the original one. There are twenty-six episodes on the two discs of Thundercats The Complete Series.

Please be aware that there will be spoilers throughout this review. Lion-O leads the survivors of a lizardman attack. Lion-O showed mercy to one of those lizardmen and he is routintely shown that it comes back to bite him. It also does help him multiple times within Thundercats The Complete Series. Lion-O is the king and has to work on his sight beyond sight. This sword with a special stone is very powerful against Mumm-Ra.

The issues families can have with Thundercats The Complete Series are violence, betrayal, evil spirits, lack of attire, enticement to lust, theft, false gods, and more. There is a racoon character within Thundercats The Complete Series that has some special stealing ability that helps him get away with crimes. He also has a magic bag and children to help him steal from others. He traps the kids into that lifestyle.

Thundercats The Complete Series starts out with a belief that technology is bad. Thundercats The Complete Series encourages all of us to be supportive of life. Multiple times Lion-O choses to save someone over getting a powerful item. He is mocked for it by the villains of course. It is great to see Thundercats The Complete Series be so supportive of the right to life. Mumm-Ra calls upon evil spirits to make his body big and strong.

I can tell that Thundercats The Complete Series was ended abruptly. The final two episodes leave it open that there is one more stone to get. Mumm-Ra is not completely defeated either. The Thundercats find they have a traitor in their midst. Plenty of plot strings are not finished off when Thundercats The Complete Series ends. Obviously the show was not doing very well or the studio wanted to go a different direction.

There are some fun characters and nice interactions within Thundercats The Complete Series. I really wish the king would find a queen. I thought the show was going that direction, but took an amazing swerve. Thundercats The Complete Series does a decent job showing off this fantasy world. There is obviously even more on Third Earth. Maybe a movie will be made to finish off the storyline and the threads. Or maybe this show will come back some day.
