Tinykin
SCORE: 77
I am very thankful that Family Friendly
Gaming was given a digital download copy of Tinykin on the Xbox Series
X. Tinykin can also be found on the Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, and
Xbox One. Tinykin is a mixture of Paper Mario and Pikmin. We have this
space man character who gets stuck on a planet. The visuals are done in
a Paper Mario kind of style. We befriend the Tinykin that help us in a
plethora of ways. For example Tinykin can blow things up, carry things,
become ladders and more. We find these eggs that Tinykin come out of all
over the 3D levels. Areas in Tinykin are huge. There are also gold
nuggets that can be collected.
Tinykin includes plenty of secret things characters can do. Find an
object and the Tinykins will take it to a statue and some gold nuggets
will appear for example. There are a wide array of different bug
characters we deal with in Tinykin as well. These bugs are worshipping
some Ardwin character in Tinykin. Each level contains an object we need
to earn to help build something. I will not spoil it for you. Our main
character can jump and then hover in a bubble for a little bit. The
bubble powers will increase as the player progresses through Tinykin.
The spiders in Tinykin will shoot lines that we can use a soapboard on.
It can feel weird to go along this small wire on a piece of soap. I
eventually adapted to it. There are multiple ways to go around levels
within Tinykin. The Tinykin will take special items to the right place
as long as the way is unlocked. I had to find my way around to open
certain areas to help the Tinykin get the special objects to the right
location. I had fun playing Tinykin. There is a lot to do in each of the
levels. If you enjoy looking around and exploring you will enjoy
Tinykin.
Since we received a digital download code of Tinykin before it launched
to the public we were restricted on what we could live stream. Then it
wound up conflicting with other games that were being played. Plus there
is little desire to go back and play through a game a second time. If
there was a physical copy of Tinykin available then I would be reminded
to play through Tinykin on live stream at some future date. There are
aspects of Tinykin I would love to show off to Family Friendly Gaming
Universe. Maybe a video sponsorship will come through and I can get that
going.
The issues families will have with Tinykin are violence, bad language,
and some crude humor. The thing about Tinykin that sticks out the most
to me is the huge areas. The level design was very well thought out. The
spider lines really help players get around in these huge levels very
quickly. I even used them to access some hard to reach areas. Collecting
all of the gold nuggets in the levels within Tinykin can take some time.
I hope Tinykin makes it into the physical copy realm really soon.
