Transformers Shattered Glass II #1

I saw Transformers Shattered Glass II #1 at one of our local comic book stores and decided to give it a shot. I am thankful I had the money to purchase this comic book. Like always there will be spoilers within this review. I had no idea what this comic book was about. Transformers Shattered Glass II #1 shocked me in a variety of different ways. It is like the Star Trek Mirrorverse. Or at least I think it is. I may need to check out the first Transformers Shattered Glass and see if I can get some context. Although I have not seen any more issues in Transformers Shattered Glass II for awhile.

The Autobots are pretty nasty in Transformers Shattered Glass II #1. In fact Optimus Prime is very hateful to the other Autobots. Ultra Magus winds up attacking and defeating him in the end of Transformers Shattered Glass II #1. Technically Optimus attacked Ultra Magus first. The Transformers in Transformers Shattered Glass II #1 are very violent, and destroy one another with reckless abandon. I am having trouble wrapping my mind around motives within Transformers Shattered Glass II #1.

There are also things that make no sense to me like a character with a hologram pretending to be someone else. It looks like they were exposed but no one seemed to notice. In many ways Transformers Shattered Glass II #1 is a hot mess with a lot of text to read. Sadly not much is explained about this world. Why is Optimus Prime purple in Transformers Shattered Glass II #1? What is with the face of Ultra Magus? I am not sure if I want to read more of Transformers Shattered Glass II #1 or not.

There are twenty pages of content, then next months cover, alternate covers, and finally some adds within Transformers Shattered Glass II #1. I have read a wide array of different comic books since coming back to this industry. I still regret throwing out so many of those comic books I bought when I was younger. Live and learn I suppose. Transformers Shattered Glass II #1 is one of the most shocking comic books I have read since coming back to the industry. It threw me for all kinds of loops.

There are so many aspects of Transformers Shattered Glass II #1 that make little to no sense to me. What is with the Senator? Why did Optimus want the Senator attacked? What is going on in the world of Transformers Shattered Glass II #1? Ultimately I am not sure I have the brain power to devote to figuring out what is going on with the fantasy universe within Transformers Shattered Glass II #1. Maybe I will change my mind after taking some time to sleep on it. Time will continue to tell.
