Zarlor Mercenary

By now Family Friendly Gaming Universe should know I am very impressed with the Evercade systems. I was able to play Zarlor Mercenary thanks to the Atari Lynx Collection 2. This game is a top down shooter where we shoot all kinds of things making money from the destruction we create. Points rack up as we shoot objects on the ground and in the air. I noticed the same shots hit objects in the air and on the ground. Which makes it a lot easier for gamers.

The money within Zarlor Mercenary can be used to improve the ship we are flying in Zarlor Mercenary. The thing about Zarlor Mercenary that impressed me the most is large models of so many of the vehicles. I also noticed we can blow away pipes and other objects that look like they are part of the background. The ships we fly in Zarlor Mercenary have a good amount of shielding to them which allows players to play Zarlor Mercenary longer.

I found myself a bit more aggressive after playing Zarlor Mercenary. That can happen after playing a shooter video game where we blow away as many things as we can. The levels in Zarlor Mercenary slowly scroll. We can also move left and right to move the screen an impressive distance. This is another aspect of Zarlor Mercenary that impressed me. Many shooters, especially on hand helds did not have this much scrolling or such large vehicle models.

Bosses can be challenging in Zarlor Mercenary and require quite a few shots to take down. I worked on learning the patterns and avoiding as many shots as I could. Early levels can be powered through if you do not care about losing lives. I showed that when I was live streaming Zarlor Mercenary on the Evercade. I had some fun playing Zarlor Mercenary on the Evercade.

I really hope there are more games like Zarlor Mercenary released in the near future. It is neat to see Atari Lynx video games released on modern systems as part of a compilation cartridge. I would have probably never learned about this shooter if I had not found out about the Evercade video game systems. Zarlor Mercenary is a piece of history that has been preserved.
