Alf Season Two
SCORE: 75
I am very thankful I had the money to purchase Alf Season Two on DVD.
It has been interesting going through this comedy television show about
an alien that comes down and lives with a family. The Tanner family
hides Alf (Gordon Shumway) from the rest of the world because they are
afraid of what the government would do to him. Willie Tanner works for
the government as a social worker so he would know how horrible the
government can be to some people. We have certainly seen some horrible
things from our government like calling citizens deplorables, attacks on
parents, Christians, and more.
There is plenty of humor within Alf Season Two. Alf is constantly
getting into trouble. His heart is in the right place and he wants to
make things right. Alf Season Two even deals with a couple of important
issues. The first is violence in the schools and the second is
alcoholism. Alf Season Two teaches kids to not fight. Alf Season Two
teaches that alcohol is bad. The negative sides of both are shown in Alf
Season Two. In both of those episodes Alf tries to help out.
There are two bonus episodes in Alf Season Two. Both of those are from
Alf The Animated Series. There are twenty-five episodes in Alf Season
Two on DVD (not counting the two bonus animated episodes). The shows
usually range around half an hour. The Christmas episode was a bit
longer and had shades of It’s A Wonderful Life. Alf finally learns a
little bit about Christmas in Alf Season Two. Alf also learns about
Halloween in Alf Season Two. One of the best lessons in Alf Season Two
is about how television influences all of us.
Alf Season Two is so much safer for families than so many other modern
television shows. The concept of clean fun seems to have been lost on
Holly Weird in the decades since Alf Season Two. The concept of death
coming at any time was new to Alf since they all died at the same age.
Not being able to eat the cat is a run on joke in Alf Season Two. We do
not see much of Lucky in Alf Season Two though. Alf also feels bad when
he realizes how much damage he causes the Tanner family - like Lynn and
college.
