Batman Knightwatch #1
SCORE: 78
I went a little crazy finding new comic books to check out recently
at one of our local comic book stores. Aspects of Batman Knightwatch #1
remind me of Batman TAS. The Batmobile, and old cars in Gotham are two
of those things. The artwork and style is more realistic. The darker
tones are used, but Batman Knightwatch #1 is much safer for families
than many comic books on the market. Batman Knightwatch #1 costs $2.99
which is lower than many of the comic books I have found and read in
2022. There will be spoilers in this review.
Batman Knightwatch #1 starts off with criminals escaping Arkham Assylum
and hiding out in Gotham. Batman is hunting them down. While Batman is
trying to catch Clayface in Batman Knightwatch #1 he gets assistance
from normal citizens posting on message boards and Chirper. Yeah Chirper
sounds a lot like Twitter to me too. After catching Clayface Batman
realizes that having normal citizens help is a good idea. This new
program is called Knightwatch. Hence the whole point of this comic book
series.
I did some research and found that Batman Knightwatch is going to be a
five issue limited series. I am not clear where the story will go after
Batman Knightwatch #1. There are twenty pages of content and then seven
pages of a sneak peak of DC League of Super Pets. The DC League of Super
Pets is receiving their very own original graphic novel. I have not been
purchasing graphic novels. The movie was decent and there was some humor
in the seven pages of preview in Batman Knightwatch #1.
After we deal with Clayface then Batgirl and Catwoman face off as
Batgirl assumes Catwoman is stealing these diamonds. It is not her. Can
you guess what Batman villain likes diamonds. If you guessed Mr Freeze
then you are right on track. Nigthwing gets frozen so Batman and Batgirl
are off to the rescue. They also stop Mr Freeze. Two villains down. I
have no idea how many more are left to be caught. The villains escaping
Arkham Assylum has been used a lot in Batman comics, television shows,
and movies before.
There is some light violent content within Batman Knightwatch #1. Ads
can be found throughout this comic book. I actually enjoyed Batman
Knightwatch #1. I am a bit bummed that it is only going to be five
issues but I can move onto something else after reading this limited
edition series. I like the lower price with Batman Knightwatch #1. I
also like the older cars. I wish the whole thing had been done in the
Batman TAS style. Maybe that will happen with some other comic book
series. Or maybe it was done when I was no longer reading comic books.
