Batman Knightwatch #2
SCORE: 76
After the first issue of Batman Knightwatch I was excited to read the
second one. My excitement dulled very fast after getting into Batman
Knightwatch #2. The whole concept of using the population to report
crimes with their phones continues within Batman Knightwatch #2. Batman
and his entire family are able to find out about crimes quicker thanks
to normal citizens reporting it through the Knightwatch program.
There will be spoilers in this review. Batman Knightwatch #2 starts off
with a ten page story about the Penguin. The Penguin hires criminals
that he thwarts. He lets the criminals get away and does slip up at the
end and admit he is paying the people doing the crimes. Then we get ten
pages of a Joker story in Batman Knightwatch #2. These clowns are going
all over the city performing. They are actually a distraction.
The Joker is breaking into prison in Batman Knightwatch #2. He forgot
where the loot was stashed and contacts his accomplices in jail to find
out. Batman learns the clowns are just a distraction and figures out
what Joker is up to. The Batman family stops this crime and gets the bad
guys right back behind bars. After that we have seven pages of a sneak
peek of Green Lantern Alliance within Batman Knightwatch #2.
My problem with Batman Knightwatch #2 is both of these stories have been
told before. Sure Batman Knightwatch #2 only costs $2.99. The paper and
coloring does not feel that great to me in Batman Knightwatch #2. The
criminal characters in Batman Knightwatch #2 have an old look and feel
to them - especially the Joker. I do not feel like Batman Knightwatch #2
progresses the whole Knightwatch concept either.
There is a bit of violent content within Batman Knightwatch #2. There
are ads found throughout this comic book. The sneak peek of Green
Lantern Alliance had something really strange within it. Can you guess
what that is? They have a female Kid Flash now. When did that happen?
Why are male characters constantly losing their roles? Is DC Comics part
of the evil war on men? I really hope not but I have read news stories
about DC Comics.
