Cars #2
SCORE: 92
I am very pleased that Noah found these old Cars comic books when he
cleaned his room. I am excited to continue on the storyline that started
in the first issue. Cars #2 gives us that race. Cars #2 does not wind up
where I thought it would. In fact I am a bit baffled as to how certain
cars let certain things happen within Cars #2. I will get into that in
just a little bit. There will be spoilers in this review.
Chick Hicks the reigning Piston Cup champion knocks other cars around in
Cars #2. He winds up making plenty of other cars crash. Why doesn't
someone do something about this? Why doesn't someone avoid his attacks
and watch him go careening by and crash into a wall? I was a bit shocked
that Lightning lost in Cars #2. After all thunder always follows
lightning. I know Lightning does eventually win in the video games that
are cannon right after the movie.
There is a nice swerve at the end of Cars #2. Chick finds out that the
next leg of the race is going to be on dirt. I was confused by something
within Cars #2. Chick knocks Lightning into some mud in Cars #2. The
confusing thing is Lightning recovered in the first movie. So why did
that knock Lightning out of the race in Cars #2? I also noticed all
these other racers congratulated Chick after he treated them so badly.
Cars #2 contains twenty-two pages of comic book content. There is an
artist of the month in Cars #2 too. Nathan Watson is the artist of the
month within Cars #2. This comic book was published in 2010 and sold for
$2.99. Cars #2 is under the Boom Kids! label. I noticed some fo the Cars
humor within Cars #2. The King is even in Cars #2. I did not expect
that. I thought he retired.
Anyone into the Cars franchise should really get into Cars #2. I like
this period way better than what was in the second or third Cars movies.
It is also one of the reasons I liked those THQ Cars video games so
much. We get to live out the events right after the first Cars movie. We
get to win multiple Piston Cups with Lightning McQueen. I hope that
happens in this comic book series in the future.
