DC League of Superpets
SCORE: 76
I am so thankful I had the money to purchase a copy of DC League of
Superpets on DVD. This movie is one of the Black Friday 2022 purchases I
made. DC League of Superpets is all about Krypto the Superdog. Krypto is
the pet of Superman with many of the same powers. Krypto and other
animals can understand one another in DC League of Superpets. The human
characters are not capable of understanding what the animals are saying
in this animated movie. There will be spoilers in this review.
It takes one hundred and five minutes to watch DC League of Superpets
from start to finish. There are some cool scenes in the credits of this
movie as well. Black Adam and his dog were a special treat for me. I
feel so bad for Lex Luthor in DC League of Superpets. I am also not sure
why Lex Luthor was thrown in prison in DC League of Superpets. It made
little to no sense to me personally.
This hairless gerbil gets powers thanks to the orange kryptonite. DC
League of Superpets teaches the viewers that orange kryptonite gives
animals super powers. In fact all of the animals in this shelter get
powers. At the same time Krypto winds up losing his powers thanks to
eating some cheese that had green kryptonite within it. The hairless
gerbil is actually pretty bright in most of DC League of Superpets.
The issues families can and will have with DC League of Superpets are
violence, language, and more. An example of the rude humor is a dog
urinating on something while someone else is talking. The urine is not
shown, just referenced and we see the dog has lifted his leg toward an
object. There are also areas where animals insult one another in DC
League of Superpets. The hairless gerbil loves Lex Luthor and he just
imprisons it in the cell he was just in.
DC League of Superpets teaches some interesting things like dogs love
unconditionally. Krypto is worried that he is going to lose his best
friend when Superman is planning on proposing to Lois Lane. That green
monster of jealousy creeps in. The special feature on the disc I
purchased is Behind the Super Voices. That bonus content lets us see the
voices behind the characters. They talk about one another as well.
Generally lots of fluff.
There is plenty of humor within DC League of Superpets. Me and the boys
watched DC League of Superpets together and Noah was laughing quite a
bit. I chuckled at various parts and so did Peter. The superpets come
together and save the day after the Justice League is caught and
imprisoned. Each member of the Justice League winds up getting a
superpet at the end of DC League of Superpets.
