Darkwing Duck #1

I am so very thankful I had the money to purchase a copy of the Darkwing Duck #1 comic book. This comic book cost $3.99 at one of our local comic book stores. I remember Darkwing Duck fondly from when I was younger. The phrase: "Let's. Get. Dangerous." stuck out to me. Thankfully the comic book of Darkwing Duck #1 uses that phrase multiple times. There will be spoilers in this review of Darkwing Duck #1.

If you are familiar with the franchise then you should understand some of the humor. Darkwing Duck is also a bit on the arrogant side. Darkwing Duck is being honored with a statue in Darkwing Duck #1. The mayor and others are showing how thankful they are for the superhero that has saved them again and again. We also have Launchpad Gosalyn, and Honker in Darkwing Duck #1.The big bad guy in Darkwing Duck #1 is Megavolt.

Darkwing Duck does not trust cell phones and is completely justified in Darkwing Duck #1. The cell phones are used to control the people. The people are brainwashed into attacking Darkwing Duck. The concept of cell phones being bad is not a new one and quite honestly a valid concern that many parents have. We waited until our kids were at the driving age before letting them get cell phones.

There are twenty-three pages of content, next issue, and advertisements within Darkwing Duck #1. I hope this series continues for awhile. The humor is fun in Darkwing Duck #1. There is some light violent content within Darkwing Duck #1. Usually it is someone getting shocked or something like that. Poor Darkwing Duck takes it on the chin for others and suffers for it. Which is part of his charm in my opinion.

Parents and kids can get into Darkwing Duck #1. There is one issue I know many families will have with Darkwing Duck #1. It is a Disney franchise and Disney has been very controversial and divisive in recent years. The Disney name is on the front cover of Darkwing Duck #1. I know of plenty of families that are boycotting Disney after they attacked families, morals, and ethics in Florida. My hope is Disney will stop being so hateful, and join us in obedience to God.
