Darkwing Duck #2

There have been plenty of nostalgia moments since I returned to the comic book industry. The Darkwing Duck comic books is a wonderful example of this. Darkwing Duck #2 feels like a Darkwing Duck cartoon - at least to me. There will be spoilers in this review. The rubber duckies on the front cover of Darkwing Duck #2 are a great clue as to what is going to happen within this comic book.

Drake Mallard takes his daughter Gosalyn to a toy store. The idea in Darkwing Duck #2 is to have a nice normal shopping trip. Launchpad is also with the father and daughter duo at the toy store. Gosalyn finds a Quackolina and wants that talking doll. Drake Mallard sees a large display of Darkwing Duck talking dolls at the toy store. He makes an interesting point that he should get some profits from the sales.

Quackerjack shows up and tries to kidnap Gosalyn. Drake Mallard changes into his Darkwing Duck costume to save the day. Part of the problem is he has to keep saving Gosalyn. Drake Mallard could not handle it if something ever happened to Gosalyn. In fact after defeating Quackerjack he decides to retire. He keeps putting Gosalyn in danger. Darkwing Duck #2 is the retirement of Darkwing Duck. Will it stick though?

There are all these toys that attack in the toy store in Darkwing Duck #2. The rubber duckies are all over the place in Darkwing Duck #2. In fact there are so many rubber duckies that they come like a wave of water. There is some violent content within Darkwing Duck #2. Most of the violent content is like Looney Tunes. In fact Darkwing Duck #2 is less violent than the Looney Tunes cartoons.

Darkwing Duck #2 contains twenty-two pages of content, next month, ads, and then a cover gallery. The front cover of next month's comic book is shown as well as a little write up. It looks like Darkwing Duck could be back in the next issue. The concept of keeping your kids safe is a good one. I wish more parents thought about what they do and if they are putting their kids in danger. Have you ever thought about that topic?
