Darkwing Duck #8
SCORE: 74
Darkwing Duck #8 continues some story threads from the last issue. On
top of that some of the disrespect shown to Darkwing Duck continues in
this comic book issue. I must admit I liked the first few comic books in
this series way more than the direction it has been taken in the last
few issues. There will be spoilers in this review of Darkwing Duck #8. I
wonder if the theme of one Justice Duck helping out will continue in
future issues.
Launchpad is freaking out and having problems flying since his compass
was stolen. They are flying north since the thief left a clue about the
north pole or bust. Launchpad is not very good at navigations without
his compass. So they land on a tropical island and purchase a new
compass. Launchpad is unable to use it though. So Gizmoduck shows up to
fly the plane for them. Darkwing Duck should have flown it himself.
Gizmoduck and Darkwing Duck have all kinds of issues in Darkwing Duck
#8. This is just like what happened with Neptunia in the last issue.
Gizmoduck and Darkwing Duck argue and get in one another's way in
Darkwing Duck #8 just like what happened in the last issue. I am not a
fan of the same theme being used over and over again. Darkwing Duck also
faces ridicule in Darkwing Duck #8. He is the hero and this is his comic
so show him some respect.
There is some very mild humor within Darkwing Duck #8. The team makes it
to the North Pole and find an ice maze. So they land at the entrance and
try and work their way through. A monster attacks them and there is some
violent content within Darkwing Duck #8. Why didn't they just fly to the
center of the maze and land there? Why work your way through from the
beginning when you can fly over it?
Darkwing Duck and Gizmoduck both use flamethrowers to melt the ice walls
and work their way through the maze much faster. Launchpad is missing at
the end of Darkwing Duck #8. It is presumed that Launchpad was kidnapped
since there is a hole in the center of the maze that goes under water.
Darkwing Duck #8 contains twenty-two pages of content, one of next
month's covers, advertisements and finally the cover gallery for this
issue.
