Dr. Stone 12

I am so thankful I had the money to purchase Dr. Stone 12. I have been really digging where this franhise has been going. All of this work to setup for the voyage across the sea. We start out Dr. Stone 12 expecting to find out that the crew of the ship are on their way across the ocean to find the secret of turning people into stone. Please note there will be spoilers in this review. I am very disappointed at one of the twists in Dr. Stone 12.

Instead of spending all this time at sea, and learning how to fish and all of that we go to a close island in Dr. Stone 12. This is the island where the astronauts landed after the entire human population was turned into stone. A small group of the characters disembark in Dr. Stone 12. Then the crew of the ship is turned to stone. The power of petrification is on this little island. How exactly did that happen? At this point it feels like lazy writing to me. After all so much more could have been done before we hit the secret of petrification.

The issues families will have with Dr. Stone 12 are violence, lack of attire, enticement to lust, women trying to seduce men, and more. The big boss is on this island and is the one with the power of turning people to stone. Senku and the others come up with a plan to take him down from the inside. They must worry about two warriors that have the power to launch something that turns humans into stone. Why are they doing this? Only to keep power and have his own harem?

I love the whole taking pictures and sailing on the giant ship in Dr. Stone 12. It was very smart to have a mobile science laboratory on the ship in Dr. Stone 12. I also love how some of the ship building problems are solved in Dr. Stone 12. I did not expect the power of petrification to appear so fast in Dr. Stone 12. It almost feels like a few more books and Dr. Stone could be completely done. Which I find a bit of a shame.

Plenty of well known art within Dr. Stone 12. The characters Senku and team meet and the problems they deal with seem trivial now. I hope the people on the mainland are doing well. Once we leave them in Dr. Stone 12 we do not go back. We have no clue how things are going there without Senku’s leadership. I plan on continuing to read this manga franchise and see where it goes.
