Dr. Stone 18
SCORE: 69
I finished reading Dr. Stone 18 yesterday. I have been absorbing it
and going over some of the things that happened. There will be spoilers
in this review. Dr. Stone 18 gives us background on how Senku and Dr.
Xeno knew one another. When Senku was a kid he sought out assistance
with building a rocket. Dr. Xeno helped Senku out. Dr. Xeno wants to
rule this new stone world. He can make as many bullets and gunpowder as
he needs.
The issues families will have with Dr. Stone 18 are lack of attire,
enticement to lust, violence, blood, lies, and more. Senku sends in a
team to capture Dr. Xeno. Dr. Xeno sends in a team to kill Senku. The
science team from Japan have one advantage over Dr. Xeno. The advantage
is they know about the revival fluid. Dr. Xeno only knows about staying
conscious to get out of the stone prison. At the end of Dr. Stone 18
Senku is shot by a sniper rifle. He made a quick makeshift bullet proof
vest to try and stay alive.
The team Senku sent in have not gone after Dr. Xeno yet. I expect that
will happen in the next manga book. I am not sure why Dr. Xeno is so
violent in Dr. Stone 18. I would think he would welcome more humans, and
another scientist. They could do a lot working together. I do not
comprehend the desire to have his own kingdom. I expect at some point
they will work together. At least I hope they do.
Luna is sent in from the Dr. Xeno side to spy on the team from Japan.
Luna winds up conflicted on what to do. The sniper lady figures out
which one Senku is thanks to Dr. Xeno determining age and height. I hope
Senku can pull through. It looks like Luna may administer first aid to
save him. I need to read the next book to find out for sure. I think
Luna may have been turned thanks to things like vanilla ice cream.
There is a lot of action and danger within Dr. Stone 18. I am eager to
see the tunnel from the team Senku sent in to capture Dr. Xeno. I hope
they are able to capture him in the next book. Both scientists are very
brilliant in Dr. Stone 18. I just feel like Dr. Xeno is way too cold
hearted. Plus he is being wasteful with resources. Why force others to
surrender when working together is so much easier.
I enjoyed the flashbacks in Dr. Stone 18. I do find it a bit convenient
that these two scientists knew one another from the past. This same
concept was used in previous Dr. Stone books with Senku’s father. We are
not closer to getting to the moon.
