Dungeons & Dragons Saturday Morning Adventures #1
SCORE: 75
I finally got around to reading the first issue of the Dungeons &
Dragons Saturday Morning Adventures. I thought certain things were going
to happen in Dungeons & Dragons Saturday Morning Adventures #1 based on
reading the second issue first. How did I come to that determination?
Well the recap page in issue #2 mentioned it. Dungeons & Dragons
Saturday Morning Adventures #1 started in a way I was not expecting.
There will be spoilers in this review.
I was under the impression these kids were able to get back to their
world and got sucked back into the fantasy one. Dungeons & Dragons
Saturday Morning Adventures #1 shows me that they never left the
dungeons and dragons forgotten realms. They have been stuck in it the
entire time. Some of them are actually content to be there. Their leader
Hank wants to get home. Sadly the rebellious rest want to stay in this
magical fantasy realm.
There is an intro to this series on the credits page. The issues
families can have with Dungeons & Dragons Saturday Morning Adventures #1
are violence, magic and more. The standard IDW format is found within
Dungeons & Dragons Saturday Morning Adventures #1. That means twenty
pages of comic book content, one of the front covers to the next issue,
alternate covers to this issue, and finally some advertisements.
The artwork in Dungeons & Dragons Saturday Morning Adventures #1 has
real dirty or noisy feel to it. I am not a fan of this style of artwork
personally. Dungeons & Dragons Saturday Morning Adventures #1 does end
in a way that brings us right to where the team starts in the next
issue. There is no gap in that at least. I appreciate that personally. I
like it when comic books tell the story from start to finish. There is a
bit of time jump in Dungeons & Dragons Saturday Morning Adventures #1.
Hank the leader is so disrespected in Dungeons & Dragons Saturday
Morning Adventures #1. Is this part of the war on men? Dungeons &
Dragons Saturday Morning Adventures #1 includes a really cool two page
layout that gives a bit of background to each of the characters. I
really enjoyed that page personally. I did not realize one of the
rebellious women in this series is a thief. A very messed up profession
that spreads pain and misery.
