F1 22
SCORE: 89
Once I finished up the live streams for
Story of Seasons A Wonderful Life I was looking for another game. I
noticed F1 22. The reason F1 22 stuck out is we recently purchased F1
23. I felt like I needed to get moving on this game so the next one
could be played at some future date. I had fun live streaming F1 22. The
casual mode is done just right. Families will need to pay attention in
the five laps of a race though. I made one mistake and it wound up
costing me in one of my races.
F1 22 looks really nice and there are some cool different camera angles.
I am not big on how the camera is changed. I prefer to do that with the
press of a button. The hair on the characters does not look right. The
tracks and vehicles look amazing. There is some spraying of champagne by
the winning racers in F1 22. They do not look wet after getting doused
with that alcohol though. I played F1 22 on the Xbox One. Families can
also find this game on the PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X if they are
looking for a Formula One racing video game.
We do more than Formula One racing in F1 22. We pick a super car early
on. I think we might be able to unlock more later. There are other races
in F1 22 like drifting or keeping a certain speed. F1 22 does include
some assists for players not that good at racing. Even with the assists
I had trouble with some of those curves. The computer controlled drivers
are less aggressive when you are on the lower difficulty settings. The
presentation in F1 22 is stellar. I can tell a lot of effort was put in
there.
Each song in F1 22 has to be turned off one at a time. This was a real
pain for me because I got some copyright issues in the live stream even
though it was twenty seconds of a song and transformed under the fair
use copyright laws. At this point with so many gamers live streaming
video games is there a point to copyrighted music in games any more? I
feel like they should not include the music and save money on their
games. Or be like Fortnite and include an easy early option to make the
game streamer friendly.
There are new seasons and fun modes in F1 22. I played career mostly
because I wanted to see what it was like. We can practice three times,
qualify and then race I learned that I could skip those practices. I
went straight to qualify and then race. If you do not qualify then you
will be put in the last position of the race. I prefer the pole
position.
