G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #285
SCORE: 66
G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #285 was published before I got back
into the comic book industry. I had to purchase a copy of G.I. Joe A
Real American Hero #285 online since I was unable to find a copy at any
of our local comic book stores. G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #285 wraps
up the hunt for Al Kawbra. We also learn who Al Kawbra is in G.I. Joe A
Real American Hero #285. There will be spoilers in this review.
Since I have read comic books after G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #285 I
know where the storyline is going. The big question in G.I. Joe A Real
American Hero #285 relates to BATs that were converted to be
construction workers. I know that the BATs were used to build the casino
on Cobra Island. Readers who read G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #285
when it first came out probably wondered what Cobra was going to build.
The issues families can have with G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #285 are
violence, and blood. The Joes blow through the BATs to finally get to Al
Kawbra. We learn that Al Kawbra is actually a Fred Series Crimson Guard.
Until I read comic books in G.I. Joe A Real American after this one the
Fred Series is the only Crimson Guard I knew about. I learned later that
they made at least one female version.
Many of the characters on the front cover of G.I. Joe A Real American
Hero #285 are not used in the comic book at all. There are some older
Joes in G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #285 that I were not expecting to
see like Rock & Roll. It was cool to see him though. Overkill does get
away in G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #285. Al Kawbra tries to kill him
but does not account for a steel implant in Overkill's skull.
There are plenty of explosions and shooting within G.I. Joe A Real
American Hero #285. This is a definite action issue. The Sit Rep can be
found on the back of the front cover which is also a credits page. After
that we get twenty pages of content, one of next month's covers, Postbox
The Pit, a four page preview of Transformers King Grimlock, and then
some advertisements. G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #285 is a solid issue
if you like violent encounters.
