G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #287
SCORE: 60
G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #287 is one of the issues of G.I. Joe A
Real American Hero I missed after coming back to comic books. I was
unable to find it at any of our local comic book stores so I purchased a
copy from an online retailer. I am thankful I had the money to purchase
a copy of this comic book. There will be some spoilers in this review.
G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #287 does set the ground work for some
things that happen in the future.
A team of G.I. Joes sneaks onto Cobra Island to see what is going on. I
am not clear what happened before this. What they find is Dr. Mindbender
and the female Crimson Guardsman are building a resort Casino for Cobra.
The original Brainwave scanner device is also transported to Cobra
Island in G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #287. There is some cat and
mouse between G.I. Joe and Cobra while G.I. Joe is sneaking onto the
sovereign island.
There are two characters in G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #287 that tell
their backstories of being discriminated against. One character is a
Muslim and the other is a female. Both claim they are discriminated
against because of their religion or gender. We see the same kind of
claim from Hollyhate quite often in their entertainment. This is an area
that G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #287 mirrors the radical far left
propaganda.
There are twenty pages of content within G.I. Joe A Real American Hero
#287. Then we see one of next month's covers, the Post Box The Pit, and
finally some advertisements. G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #287 was
really underwhelming for me. I am glad I was able to read it and find
out what happened in this issue. I find it interesting that Dr.
Mindbender duplicated his lab on Cobra Island from Springfield.
B.A.T.s were converted into construction labor in G.I. Joe A Real
American Hero #287. The Joes kidnap three Cobra troops to be able to
sneak into the casino being built and download the data from the
Brainwave scanner. They also hack in to leave themselves a way to easily
access the computer systems going forward. Cobra is shown as not very
bright in G.I. Joe A Real American Hero #287.
