Gargoyles #10
SCORE: 75
This long storyline has been drawn out for some time. Gargoyles #10
finally puts something very interesting to rest. I am happy that the
court case wraps up in Gargoyles #10. There are twenty-two pages of
comic book content, then a page devoted to the next issue, some
advertisements and finally the cover gallery. There will be spoilers in
this review of Gargoyles #10.
The trial of Goliath ends. There are two questions the court is trying
to decide in Gargoyles #10. The first one is Goliath sentient. On that
count the judge is pretty sure that Goliath is sentient. The second
count is a bit more interesting. Do the rights of the Constitution apply
to a Gargoyle? After all they are human rights. Is Goliath considered
human?
The second count is a bit more interesting in Gargoyles #10. Since
Goliath exhibits humanity in a great many ways then the judge rules he
fits under the umbrella and deserves those rights. Since Goliath was
unjustly arrested, he is immediately released near the end of Gargoyles
#10. This is a big win for this televised case that a great many
characters get to witness.
There is some shocking content near the end of Gargoyles #10. We find
out the judge was paid off to rule in that manner. This is shocking
because I felt like the right ruling was made anyways. Still it is a bit
of a problem for the future. Also could there be an appeals to this case
in the future? I guess I will need to keep reading to find out one way
or the other.
The second shocking part of Gargoyles #10 near the ends is when Goliath
is going to see someone that is dying. I am not sure who this character
is near the end of Gargoyles #10. The press also want to hear from
Goliath after he wins but he winds up flying away. The human and
Gargoyle romance is exposed in Gargoyles #10. That could be a problem
for that female police officer going forward.
