Gargoyles #3
SCORE: 70
My opinion of this comic book has been back and forth. Gargoyles #3
is on the upswing in my opinion. I am concerned about what is going to
happen in the next issue. So it may swing back down when I read that
issue. I am enjoying the Gargoyles comic book and see there is a solid
basis for a lot of content based on some of the little things being
hinted at. Or in other cases characters that will be appearing soon.
There will be spoilers in this review.
Gargoyles #3 starts off in an interesting manner. There are all these
panels with a plethora of characters making comments about what is going
on. It is sort of like a recap found in other comic books. Talon is on
the hunt for his kidnapped pregnant wife. He has Xanatos by the throat
and accuses him of the deed. It is apparent pretty quickly that Xanatos
is not behind this. They then realize that it must have been Thailog.
Off they go to find Thailog.
There is some violent content within Gargoyles #3. Characters fight it
out in this comic book. There is a robotic character that loses an arm
in Gargoyles #3. Thankfully they are able to re-attach their arm after
the battle is done. The baby is born and it is a boy. The boy is
completely human. So we think until the final page of Gargoyles #3. The
baby boy has some power in him. Thailog loses interest since he is just
a boy. What was Thailog's whole interest in the first place?
There is conversation about Dino Dracon in Gargoyles #3. Dino is getting
out of Sing Sing and the other mob bosses realize that could be a
problem for them and their businesses. Some of the characters within
Gargoyles #3 are referenced as clones. I am not sure when that happened
or why. What happened to the originals? Are the originals still alive? I
may need to watch the cartoon at some point to find the answers to some
of these questions.
There are twenty-two pages of content, a blurb and picture about next
month's issue, ads, and then the cover gallery. I was very happy to see
husband the wife reunited in Gargoyles #3. It was also great to see the
baby born safely. I am confused as to how so few gargoyles were able to
hold off such a larger and stronger force in Gargoyles #3. The art style
within Gargoyles #3 is not always to my personal tastes.
