Gargoyles #8

Every month there are a few comic books that are a breath of fresh air to me. I never know until I am reading a certain comic book series if it will become that or not. Gargoyles #8 is one of those that feels like a breath of fresh air to me. In fact there are some parallels within Gargoyles #8 to the Holy Bible. More on that later in this review. I am very thankful and blessed to have been able to read and review Gargoyles #8. There will be spoilers in this review.

Different story threads are moved along. There are also some mysteries mentioned that may have something to do with the Gargoyles Dark Ages comic book series that recently started. I am a bit confused how two of these Gargoyles got into robotic bodies. There is definitely more to that than I am aware of. I hope it is explored somewhere. Maybe it was in the cartoon. I still have not seen it to know for certain.

The Pack attacks the prison in Gargoyles #8. They are there for Goliath and to free this prisoner. The trio that makes up the pack seems formidable at first. They scare a guard pretty badly that had just been abusive to Goliath. In a moment that reminded me of Paul and Silas in prison - Goliath asks the guard to free him to fight off The Pack. Goliath wins the fight and stays in prison. This is that Biblical moment I mentioned.

Gargoyles #8 contains twenty-two pages of content, one of next months covers, some advertisements, the cover gallery, and then some more advertisements. Gargoyles #8 has a lot of different front covers. In fact I have noticed that about Dynamite comic books. They go all out in terms of all kinds of different front covers. I personally am only going to purchase one so it does not phase me they do so many. It nice to see all of them in the comic book though.

Gargoyles #8 does contain a bit of violent content within it. There are also a few other threads that are given a page or two in Gargoyles #8. It is interesting how Gargoyles #8 is slowly bringing along so many interesting plot threads. This is part of the reason I am enjoying this series. According to the end of Gargoyles #8 Goliath will have his hearing in the next issue. That has been dragging on for some time now.
