Gold Goblin #5
SCORE: 67
I recently finished reading the Gold Goblin #5 comic book. I found
out something interesting at the end of Gold Goblin #5 as well. This is
a limited run series that only lasts for five issues. Another way of
saying it is Gold Goblin #5 is the last one in this series for now.
Which is quite honestly fine with me personally. There will be some
spoilers within Gold Goblin #5. The credits page contains the series
recap which is helpful for those not remembering where this series has
been or if they missed the previous issues.
The Goblin Queen captured Norman Osborn and is trying to give him his
sins back. There is some debate in Gold Goblin #5 about whose sins they
actually are. After all The Goblin Queen has done some pretty horrible
things herself. Norman Osborn is eventually able to get away and he asks
Spider-Man for help. The two of them together go after the Goblin Queen
in her human form while she is on camera complaining about Norman
Osborn.
The issues families can have with Gold Goblin #5 are lack of attire,
enticement to lust, violence, blood and more. There are twenty pages of
content within Gold Goblin #5. Ads can be found all throughout this
comic book. Some of the ads are on the bloody side as well. Guilt is a
very deep and powerful theme within Gold Goblin #5. The Bullpen
Bulletins in Gold Goblin #5 is on the meh side for me.
The Goblin Queen tries to give the sins to Spider-Man in Gold Goblin #5.
The Gold Goblin tries to pull her away with a weapon with a chain on it.
The Gold Goblin winds up breaking her neck and killing her. He is
wracked with guilt. He obviously did not want to kill her in Gold Goblin
#5. He is not a very good hero in Gold Goblin #5. He takes it on the
chin a lot and does not do a good job of saving others.
Gold Goblin #5 does tell us that we can get more of the character in
upcoming Spider-Man comic books. I think Norman Osborn will also be
appearing in the Red Goblin comic books. Heroes find a way to stop the
threats without killing them. Gold Goblin #5 has some humanity in it
since we do not always do that ourselves. One little mistake can lead to
all kinds of pain. I guess all of that sin is gone now.
