Guardians of the Galaxy #2

I am very thankful I had the money to purchase a copy of the Guardians of the Galaxy #2 comic book. This is a one shot story that progresses a few things forward but otherwise seems a bit pointless. The Guardians of the Galaxy are almost out of fuel when they come to a planet to meet with an old friend of Peter Quill. There are two sides fighting on this planet and Peter is trying to get them to stop because of the Grootfall danger. There is a second team of two sent to the other side. There will be spoilers in this review.

The issues families can have with Guardians of the Galaxy #2 are lack of attire, enticement to lust, violence, blood, bad language, and more. The humor is really toned down in Guardians of the Galaxy #2. I am not sure what Drax is about in Guardians of the Galaxy #2. He sits there in space and looks at the planet. I wonder if Drax is trying to say he is out of place on the Guardians of the Galaxy. I guess I will need to keep reading to find out. Rocket is still not present in Guardians of the Galaxy #2.

Nebula and Gamora are the other team of two in Guardians of the Galaxy #2. They give up trying to communicate and kill this creature and then steal its Mysterium. Guardians of the Galaxy #2 explains that Mysterium is really valuable. Drax and Star Lord discuss how in the old days they would just steal stuff from others when they arrived. It seems Star Lord is trying to be better but the other Guardians miss the old days. It makes me think some people cannot change who or what they actually are.

There are twenty pages of comic book content within Guardians of the Galaxy #2. We get three pages of content and then the credits page. One of next month's covers is shown at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy #2. I have read the Bullpen Bulletins before in other comic books. The art and paneling is decent within Guardians of the Galaxy #2. The story within Guardians of the Galaxy #2 feels pointless. Unless there are seeds being planted for the future. Again I need to keep reading to find out.

I have read two comics in this new Guardians of the Galaxy comic book series. Nothing really stands out that for me in this series thus far. Guardians of the Galaxy #2 did not answer any questions I had about the first issue. I still do not understand what is going on with Groot. I still have no idea what happened to Rocket. I am also unclear what brought these characters together. What is the goal of the Guardians of the Galaxy? I am also a bit perplexed by the attack when the Guardians of the Galaxy was referenced.
