Jaleco Arcade 1

I am very thankful I was blessed enough to be able to purchase a copy of the Jaleco Arcade 1 multi-game cartridge for the Evercade systems. There are eight games on this cartridge. The games on the Jaleco Arcade 1 cartridge are 64th Street A Detective Story, Avenging Spirit, Cybattler, E.D.F. Earth Defense Force, P-47 The Phantom Fighter, Rodland, Saint Dragon, and The Astyanax. Half of the games on the Jaleco Arcade 1 cartridge are shooters.

There are some weird games in Jaleco Arcade 1 too. Avenging Spirit and Rodland come to mind. In Avenging Spirit we play a ghost that possess other characters. Those characters then go on a rampage destroying all of the other characters in a 2D side scroller. When your host body takes too much damage you go and take control of another character. The powers can change depending on the character. I was a guy with a gun shooting everyone and then a dragon breathing fire when I blitzed through a few levels in this game. In Rodland we take a young lady with a rod and can move monsters from one side to another. We must walk over all of the flowers and take out the enemies in the screens we are on. Rodland feels like a puzzle game to me in most regards.

64th Street A Detective Story is a Final Fight like game. The main difference is there is a more interesting and engaging story going on. The violence gets really dull after a bit. The Astyanax is a 2D side scrolling video game. I remember playing the 8-bit NES version and the arcade version is way better. We are in a side scrolling 2D action adventure video game where we destroy all of these monsters in our path.

Jaleco Arcade 1 is way too heavy on violence in my opinion. There is also some lack of attire, enticement to lust, magic, false gods, and more. We blow up all kinds of ships in Jaleco Arcade 1. We destroy a plethora of monsters like skeletons for example. I am not the biggest on shooter video games and at least half of the games on this cartridge are shooters. Saint Dragon is a bit different since we have this massive dragon that we play. Cybattler was just confusing to me.

Jaleco Arcade 1 is not the best Evercade cartridge out there and it is not the worst. There are a few interesting concepts and games on the Jaleco Arcade 1 cartridge in my opinion.
