Juniper #1

I had seen Juniper #1 at one of our local comic book stores for months now. It was in the section that is generally safer for families. I was curious about it, but did not buy it for some time. Eventually I decided to pick it up and see where this little comic book goes. Juniper #1 is the first time I am reading a comic book from Scout Comics. I checked out there website and see they have published quite a few comic books. I did not find any information on a Juniper #2 though. Maybe that will be made in the future. There will be spoilers in this review.

We meet Juniper and Toby in Juniper #1. Juniper is a young lady and Toby is a robot. They are being chased by robot bees for being thieves. We find out later that Toby did steal some robot honey. Juniper chastises Toby for stealing. I love seeing that kind of behavior in Juniper #1. It is great to see someone explain that stealing is wrong. So many comic books teach the opposite lesson. The duo fall into a crack in the wall to avoid being attacked by the robot bees. There is some mild violent content before that happens.

Want to know something that shocks me about Juniper #1? It costs #1.99 and there are twenty-two pages of content. There are a couple of ads at the end of Juniper #1. Juniper #1 is part of the SCOOT! brand of Scout Comics. Those are designed for all ages of the family. A reading ability is needed to appreciate all of Juniper #1. If I can find more of these locally I will plan on looking into them. Juniper #1 is an enjoyable little adventure that builds as the reader goes through the comic book.

Toby brightens his eyes so Juniper can see the cave they find themselves in. Actually the duo finds themselves in the basement of a scary plant called Stanley. Stanley has been watching the house for his master Clarece. She went on a journey over forty-five years ago. Stanley offers the duo this house and his services if they can go to the desert and find out what happened to Clarece. They agree and are leaving for an adventure. Juniper #1 ends with the duo flying out of there. Toby made himself into a plane so they can fly.

Juniper #1 is a cute little comic book that kids can really enjoy. I found very little content parents would find offensive. I even mentioned on the good lessons within Juniper #1. I hope the second issue is published pretty soon. I am very curious to see where this adventures goes. I am also interested in more backstory surrounding Juniper and Toby. How did they meet? Where are they from? Juniper #1 starts off an interesting robot fantasy storyline that families should be able to appreciate. I think a video game based off these characters would be pretty cool too.
