Lego Ninjago Garmadon #5

I am so thankful I had the money to purchase a copy of the Lego Ninjago Garmadon #5 comic book. This comic has been a refreshing surprise and I am glad I found it. I did not know if the franchise would end with Lego Ninjago Garmadon #5 or not. There will be spoilers in this review. From what I read about the end of Lego Ninjago Garmadon #5 the comic book will continue on. Lego Ninjago Garmadon #5 finishes up the Two Moons Village story arc. We will see more of the travels of Garmadon in future issues of this comic book. I am pleased this comic is going to continue.

Garmadon goes through some changes in Lego Ninjago Garmadon #5. He decides to go back to the Two Moons Villages and defeat Mogra. The villagers that escaped give him an out. Garmadon decides he must get revenge on Mogra. The villagers and Mogra get an unlikely ally in the bears. The gang runs the bears out of the forest. Garmadon frees the giant bear he imprisoned. They work as a team to free the village from the oppressors. Then they force the gang to fix up their village near the end of Lego Ninjago Garmadon #5.

Garmadon leaves his hat behind in Lego Ninjago Garmadon #5 as well. That may be an important thing. I am not sure. Garmadon defeats Mogra by forcing him to drink too much tea. In essence Garmadon made Mogra overpower himself. It is a tried and true move that many heroes use. Is Garmadon a hero? I am not sure yet. Garmadon is less evil and more relatable in Lego Ninjago Garmadon #5. I hope Garmadon continues down the path of doing good in issues after Lego Ninjago Garmadon #5. There is some violence and blood within Lego Ninjago Garmadon #5.

The main theme of Lego Ninjago Garmadon #5 is redemption. Garmadon wants redemption. He is still a bit on the grumpy side at times. He is taken aback by love and kindness from other characters. I think he is starting to accept and embrace that though. There are twenty-six pages of content, some information from the creator, and then some advertisements. Lego Ninjago Garmadon #5 is a very solid read with some nice art. I love the two page spreads that are within Lego Ninjago Garmadon #5. The action is related quite well and there is no Lego feel within Lego Ninjago Garmadon #5.

It has been a pleasure for me to read this series. I like how Garmadon is shedding his evil persona and becoming more good. The editor references Garmadon as less evil. He helps free the village. He is a hero in their eyes. He may not always have the best motives or treat other characters the best. He does help out and that should count for something in my book. If you are into this franchise you should enjoy Lego Ninjago Garmadon #5. I love how the humans and bears team up and work together even though they do not trust one another.
