Looney Tunes #269
SCORE: 82
I am very thankful I had enough money to purchase a copy of the
Looney Tunes #269 comic book. I ran some numbers and realized that this
run of Looney Tunes has been going for over twenty-two years. That is
quite an impressive run for a comic book series. Looney Tunes #269 has
the Looney Tunes feel as well. In fact there were not many surprises in
how the stories within Looney Tunes #269 turned out.
Please be aware there will be spoilers in this review. The first story
within Looney Tunes #269 is So Smart It Hurts. It taes eight pages to
read this story. Bugs Bunny is giving out an award at an awards show.
There is a three way tie so Bugs has them battle it out on stage for a
winner. In the end Bugs Bunny declares himself the winner in Looney
Tunes #269. This is typical Looney Tunes. The thing is they should have
just picked one winner and gone with it. Someone who was not even
qualified wound up winning it.
The second story within Looney Tunes #269 is Gotta Get A Yeti. This
story is six pages long. Bugs and Daffy are trying to get a picture of a
Yeti to earn all kinds of money. Daffy is spending more time trying to
mess Bugs over. Can you guess what happens with each of the traps Daffy
Duck sets? Daffy Duck falls into them or they backfire. In the end Bugs
gets the pictures and Daffy steals the camera. There is an elevator back
from the mountain into town and the Yeti lets all these other people
take pictures of him.
The final story within Looney Tunes #269 is Award to the Wise. This
story is eight pages long. Sylvester and Tweety are both up for awards.
Sylvester spends more time trying to eat Tweety though. Sylvester wins
and a giant board or televison falls on Sylvester. So Tweety is given
the award since Sylvester is knocked out trying to receive the award.
This to me is kind of lame. Sylvester won and earned it. Again typical
Looney Tunes.
After the three stories there are seven pages of a Teen Titans Go! Sneak
Peak. I will openly admit that the sneak peek did not interest me in the
comic book or graphic novel. There is cartoon violence within Looney
Tunes #269. Numerous characters within Looney Tunes #269 take damage
from a plethora of different devices. The anvil falling at an awards
show is a little strange. Kids over the age of eight should enjoy the
humor within Looney Tunes #269.
