Looney Tunes #274
SCORE: 83
Since I came back to the comic book industry there have been some
good Looney Tunes comic books, and some that did not resonate so well
with me. Many of the stories in past comic books feel like things that
were already done or covered in the cartoon. Looney Tunes #273 feels
vastly different to me. Maybe I am way off base. Maybe I missed or
forgot some things. Looney Tunes #273 feels fresh to me. There will be
spoilers in this review.
The first story in Looney Tunes #273 is Porky vs. The Volcano of Doom.
This first story is eight pages long in Looney Tunes #273. Porky Pig is
an Indiana Jones type that is very happy to be going on an expedition
thanks to Foghorn Leghorn. There is one small catch though. Porky Pig
must bring Daffy Duck along with him on the journey. They get there, get
the item and then wind up seeing Foghorn Leghorn pick up dry cleaning
even though he does not wear any clothing.
The second story in Looney Tunes #273 is Cheop Stix. This story is also
eight pages long. Looney Tunes #273 is Wile E. Coyote and the Roadrunner
but in ancient Egypt. The coyote goes to the Temple of Akhme Giver of
Gadgets at one point. There are numerous little inside jokes and humor
within Looney Tunes #273. This story goes the same way all of the others
go from the cartoon.
The third story in Looney Tunes #273 is Ali's Mama and the Foolish
Thieves. This story is also eight pages long. That leaves Looney Tunes
#273 at twenty-four pages of comic book content. Ali's Mama and the
Foolish Thieves is about Daffy Duck and Porky Pig in an Aladdin kind of
a story. They find a lamp and a genie. The wishes go badly and they wind
up with just one little diamond.
There is a bit of cartoon violence in Looney Tunes #273. The second two
stories are the ones that contain that content. After the three stories
in Looney Tunes #273 we get some ads and six pages devotes to Clark &
Lex. From what I gather Clark & Lex is an upcoming graphic novel. Looney
Tunes #273 had me laughing out loud in multiple parts. Daffy Duck has
some great lines in this comic book.
