Madballs vs Garbage Pail Kids Time Again, Slime Again #1

I saw Madballs vs Garbage Pail Kids Time Again, Slime Again #1 at one of our local comic book stores and decided to try it. I knew I would be able to review it. I know very little about the Madballs. I heard of the Garbage Pail Kids in the past. Dynamite has done Gargoyles and Darkwing Duck so I hoped an all ages rated comic book would be decent. My hopes were dashed against a wall like a fine china at sixty miles per hour. There will be spoilers in this review.

Madballs vs Garbage Pail Kids Time Again, Slime Again #1 has gross and ugly art. It is more than the characters that are portrayed too. I think an effort was made to make Madballs vs Garbage Pail Kids Time Again, Slime Again #1 look as bad as possible. Madballs and Garbage Pail Kids are constantly fighting in Madballs vs Garbage Pail Kids Time Again, Slime Again #1. The verbal barbs and insults get really old really fast in this comic book.

We start modern day where two kids are commenting on the two sides fighting. They have a family album that shows how it was worse in the past. Madballs vs Garbage Pail Kids Time Again, Slime Again #1 takes us to caveman times in Prehysterical. We then get to Greek times in The Odyss-eek. Finally we are back to modern day and we have one page of a Rancid Riddle. There are twenty pages of content within Madballs vs Garbage Pail Kids Time Again, Slime Again #1.

Ads can be found throughout this comic book. The issues families can have with Madballs vs Garbage Pail Kids Time Again, Slime Again #1 is fighting, insults, lack of attire, enticement to lust, and more. The lack of attire and enticement to lust is in one of the advertisements for another comic book. I am pretty sure that one is not for all ages. Why would a more adult comic advertisement be placed in a comic book for all ages?

I think Madballs vs Garbage Pail Kids Time Again, Slime Again #1 might have been trying to be funny. It gets nowhere into the ballpark though. I found zero humor within Madballs vs Garbage Pail Kids Time Again, Slime Again #1. The ugly, gross and disgusting art sticks out. The constant bickering and insults stick out. I am not sure if I will continue to read this series or not. The Dynamite Dispatch page discusses the next issue and it looks like the time travel concept will continue.
