Magneto #2
SCORE: 68
I am only into the second issue of this comic book series and
honestly it is already losing me. I am hoping this Magneto comic book is
going to be a limited run series that ends in a few issues. Unless it
turns things around I will drop it like a bad habit. The X-Men curse of
having bad comic books continues for Marvel. There will be spoilers of
this review of Magneto #2.
We find out where Magneto is being held. The Mindstormer is some
brainwashing machine to make Magneto want to be evil again. This wishy
washy which way will Magneto go is honestly annoying. He was bad. He was
good. He was good pretending to be bad. Now he is going to go bad again.
The writers are having a real problem figuring out what they want to do
and flip more than a light switch.
There is some violence and language issues within Magneto #2. IRAE Queen
of Wrath claims to be Magneto's daughter in Magneto #2. I do not know if
that is literal or in some philosophical sense. I guess I will need to
keep reading to find out. I probably will give this series a few more
issues. Honestly I do not care one way or the other if she is his actual
daughter or not.
Magneto #2 contains twenty pages of comic book content. Advertisements
can be found throughout the Magneto #2 comic book. We get treated to a
page devote to the next issue as well. There are pages at the beginning
of Magneto #2 devoted to John Romita. I read quite a few comics with
that in it already. The crew that kidnapped Magneto has some cyborgs
within it. I am not sure what that is about.
Magneto's students find him and go to try and rescue him. Does Magneto
actually want to be rescued? At the end of Magneto #2 these students get
attacked by Magneto. There is some debate in Magneto #2 about whether
the attack of real or staged. I also wonder how Magneto was so much
weaker in Magneto #2. This comic book implies that you are stronger if
you are evil. I disagree with that personally and professionally.
