Masters of the Universe Masterverse #1
SCORE: 61
The deeper I get back into the comic book industry the more I think
about the words of King Solomon. There really is nothing new under the
sun. Masters of the Universe Masterverse #1 is the He-Man universe. I
will be completely transparent, open, and honest. Full disclosure I have
never been a fan of the He-Man franchise. I hoped Masters of the
Universe Masterverse #1 might be somewhat interesting and decent. My low
expectations were not reached.
There will be spoilers in this review. There are twenty pages of content
within Masters of the Universe Masterverse #1. Eight of those pages are
in some lame kindergarten kind of art style with little logic to it.
He-Man calls a false goddess to give him help, she provides a vehicle
and then Skeletor destroys it. That happened again and again. I felt
like I was reading the definition of insanity.
The issues families will have with Masters of the Universe Masterverse
#1 are lack of attire, enticement to lust, magic, blood, violence, false
goddess, and more. There is a bit of humor within Masters of the
Universe Masterverse #1. The Horsepower column is on the horror gross
side. Masters of the Universe Masterverse #1 started really interesting
and then just got weird. In fact most of Masters of the Universe
Masterverse #1 is disconnected.
I suspect Masters of the Universe Masterverse #1 is referencing a
multiverse belief and showing different versions of the same characters.
Masters of the Universe Masterverse #1 could have been more clear on
this. There is a Prince Adam that transforms into He-Man. There is what
I think is a different Adam that transforms into some hideous beast that
can suck the life out of other characters. There is also the joke
version of He-Man.
I did a little research and found the Masters of the Universe
Masterverse comic book is supposed to be a mini series. I may continue
it to see if if gets any better. I really hope Masters of the Universe
Masterverse #1 gets more cohesive. There are supposed to be only four
issues in this mini series so I might as well finish it off. Thus far
Masters of the Universe Masterverse #1 did not impress me. Not one bit.
