Midnight Suns #2

I just finished reading the Midnight Suns #2 comic book. This comic book series is way worse than I thought it would be. I guess I am a bit naive. There are twenty pages of content within Midnight Suns #2. There are also advertisements shown throughout the comic book. Near the end we see a preview of the cover of the next issue. Please be aware there will be spoilers in this review. Wolverine is not the only character that does not seem to fit this series. Guess who attacks in Midnight Suns #2?

If you guessed Doctor Doom then you would be completely right. He makes an appearance and absolutely trashes the "heroes" of Midnight Suns #2. Doctor Doom makes a lot of sense in his desire to save the world by taking out this girl that will bring about its demise. How did Doctor Doom find out about this? He is technology based not magic based. Midnight Suns #2 does not explain that. In many ways Midnight Suns #2 feels like a throwaway issue. Doom fights and then leaves.

The twist at the end of Midnight Suns #2 is when Clea (a female Doctor Strange) teleports the heroes that were seen at Armageddon to some strange dimension where at least one of their powers does not work. This female Sorcerer Supreme has some logic behind this move. Take them out of the equation and the end of the world cannot happen. I suppose it makes some sense. Their attendance may not be required for the the event to happen though.

The issues families can have with Midnight Suns #2 is magic, occult, violence, witches, demons, zombies, and more. A witch has taken Zoe to a "safe space" where witches once practiced their evil, vile, and wicked dark arts. The "heroes" in Midnight Suns #2 are more like villains. Why do we need female versions of every great Marvel hero? I really do not comprehend that. Is Marvel part of the war on men?

I am not into this five issue series one bit. I am however planning on finishing it because five issues is what I give a series before making a decision. If I made the decision after two or three I would be done with Midnight Suns right now. I am curious to see how they are going to stop all non-magic users get killed off. I figure we will get to the Armageddon one way or another. I do not recommend Midnight Suns #2 to families.
