Midnight Suns #5

I am so happy that this series is finally done. Reading Midnight Suns has been a challenge. There was some excitement to finally get to the last one and be done with it. Midnight Suns #5 is the last comic in this series. There are some things left open ended so it may come back like a cockroach at some future date. There will be spoilers in this review. The last issue left us off with the fact that the Armageddon had come. It was the end of this world and no one felt fine.

The credits page of Midnight Suns #5 gives a recap of what is going on. Corina is now Korrosion. I guess she needed some big bad villain name or something. The Midnight Suns are trapped and unable to get back to their world. So the female Ghost Rider contacts herself in an alternate timeline to send a message back in time. That way they can change the timeline. How any of this supposedly works is not really explained.

The issues families will have with Midnight Suns #5 are blood, violence, lack of attire, enticement to lust, magic, bad language, and more. This magical mirror is very important to winning in Midnight Suns #5. The end of the world is averted but no one actually winds up dying. That includes the bad character Korrosion. Agatha Harkness does steal some of Korrosion’s power and Agatha winds up looking much younger.

There is an interesting page near the beginning of Midnight Suns #5 where we find out the mother did not want Agatha and those witches connected with her daughter. Too bad it wound up happening anyways. That mother’s wishes were not granted in the future. Unless that was also some alternate timeline that has gone away. There are twenty pages of content within Midnight Suns #5. There are advertisements found throughout the Midnight Suns #5 comic book.

All in all Midnight Suns #5 was pretty underwhelming. The whole alternate timeline was pretty lame. Did that timeline go away? Or are the heroes all dead in the alternate timeline? Wolverine was confused by what happened as well. In fact he is the only character in Midnight Suns #5 that made much sense in the end. The Bullpen Bulletins was not really interesting either. Mainly a rah, rah this chick is so amazing. At the end of the day all parts of Midnight Suns #5 made me yawn.
