Monster High The Movie
SCORE: 69
I know of the Monster High franchise. I have played some video games
based on Monster High. That is the extent to my knowledge of this
franchise. I know this is like a high school but done with monsters.
Monster High The Movie introduces us to Clawdeen Wolf. She makes friends
with Draculaura and Frankie Stein. This is a live action movie. I did
some research and discovered there are animated shows of Monster High as
well. There will be spoilers in this review.
The issues families can have with Monster High The Movie are violence,
magic, witchcraft, occult, lack of attire, enticement to lust, and more.
The highly controversial and divisive woke practice of talking about
pronouns is used in Monster High The Movie. Monsters are shown to be
good and humans bad in Monster High The Movie. At least until the end of
the movie. Then there are a few humans allowed in.
Monster High The Movie provides us songs and dance. None of the songs
caught my ear. None of the songs irritated me either. The songs were
there to let characters explain how they felt so alienated from everyone
else. At least that was the theme I picked up on. The main drama in
Monster High The Movie is Clawdeen Wolf is half human and half werewolf.
The school has a no humans allowed policy.
Another storyline within Monster High The Movie is Draculaura is a
vampire that practices the dark arts of witchcraft. Vampires and witches
have been at war for a long time. So these two characters hide this
aspect of themselves because they would get in trouble if others found
out. At the end the older monster characters accept these facets of
these characters letting the viewer know you should be whomever you want
to be.
The special features on the Monster High The Movie DVD disc are music
videos and sing alongs, lip sync and dance tutorial, diversity and
inclusion, ghoul slang, and more. For me Monster High The Movie is an
one and done. At the end of this movie there is some character not
completely shown that thinks the vampire witch is the key to the witches
defeating the vampires. That hints at a sequel. Hopefully the woke
controversial and divisive content will be toned down in any sequels.
