Moonfall
SCORE: 62
Moonfall is one of those movies that caught my eye on Black Friday
2022. I knew little about it except what I could read on the back cover
of the DVD case. Moonfall is one of those disaster films that could
bring about the end of the planet Earth. I also realized after watching
Moonfall that part of the back cover is actually wrong. There are more
people that believe Jo Fowler. I will try to get into that in just a
bit. There will be spoilers in this review.
Moonfall starts with astronauts in space and some swarm comes after
them. This swarm came from the moon. NASA does not believe Brian Harper
even though they have video proof. NASA covers this up and hides the
fact that there is a dangerous alien presence on the moon. Technically
it is in the moon. Things get really strange later on in Moonfall. The
orbit of the moon is decaying and it is coming closer to Earth. The
closer the moon gets the worse things are on Earth.
KC Houseman is a conspiracy theorist that believes the moon is hollow
and a structure made by aliens. There must be some intelligent design
behind how perfectly the moon is from the Earth, and how far Earth is
from the sun. Moonfall does all it can to promote this theory. Moonfall
also encourages conspiracy theorists by claiming they are right and the
government is lying to us, and hiding things from us.
The issues families can have with Moonfall is violence, blood, bad
language, and more. There is plenty of peril in this movie that promotes
Old Earth theory. There are also a few funny moments within Moonfall. A
lof the characters feel out of touch for quite a bit of Moonfall. Jo
Fowler's ex husband believes her and helps her get some gear for a
second moon mission in Moonfall. There were more people that believed
her. Technically KC Houseman knew before she did.
Moonfall teaches that our ancient ancestors were out in space living
completely in peace. They were amazing humans. The AI they created
became self aware and decided for some reason to start killing
biological beings. That is the swarm that was in the moon. The ancient
humans sent a moon out to create a new planet and to seed it with their
own DNA. In essence Moonfall takes a whacky idea and tries to make it
the origins of life on Earth.
